Sanctuary Barrel Race High Casacades is one of the largest independently produced barrel races on the West Coast hosting 500+ riders over the course of a four day event located in beautiful Redmond, Oregon. Not only is Sanctuary Barrel Race High Cascades one of the largest independently produced races, but also, it’s a race out to do good in the rodeo industry donating to multiple non-profits that benefit families in need within the community and those that protect the “cowboy” way of life. Sanctuary Barrel Race High Cascades is a race that just as much for the competitors as it is for the entire rodeo community!
Our Story
About Sanctuary
Sanctuary Barrel Race and Event Production began in 2017 when Garan Buller set out to do good in the rodeo community and create a new kind of barrel race where racers got to do what they love while helping those they love. Since then Sanctuary Barrel Race, High Cascades has grown to be one of the largest independently produced barrel races on the West Coast drawing riders from multiple states and even Canada. Not only is it one of the highest pay out percentages in barrel racing, it is also one of the only races that directly donates to industry charities such as Buckles for Bailey. Sanctuary Barrel Race, High Cascades has grown to host over 500 riders and has been featured in Barrel Horse News, and recognized in the industry has one of the best races produced on the West Coast. As the race has grown, 2025 brings new and exciting developments such as new incentives, a futurity and performance horse sale, concert, and new management partners all with the intention of creating a one of a kind event for competitors and spectators alike.

Those of you who attended in 2024 had the pleasure of meeting Zack Witvoet of Pegasus Equine LLC. when he volunteered his talents as the Auctioneer for the Calcutta Auction. It is the pleasure of Sanctuary Barrel Race and Event Production to introduce Pegasus Equine LLC. as a managing partner for 2025! Pegasus is the creation of Kalie Gould and Zack Witvoet. This husband and wife duo has almost 30 year of equine industry experience along side of decades of client and event management experience in their careers outside of the equestrian industry. Garan hand selected Pegasus Equine to help elevated the race, streamline processes, and generate more public involvement. Their love of the rodeo industry, passion for doing good in the world, and commitment to prolonging the “cowboy” way of life made a perfect partnership for Sanctuary Barrel Races.
